Hypnosis

 

Hypnosis is not a one size fits all experience; it is different for everyone. Many people say that they feel a release of tension in the body and a heightened awareness in the mind. Contrary to some myths about hypnosis, it is similar to watching a film, in that:  

  • You do not lose control of yourself
  • You are aware of what is happening around you
  • You are not asleep or unconscious
  • You can stop being so focused just as soon as you like
  • You can interact as you would usually

 

Sometimes a film's characters and storyline become so real that you escape into the emotions and thoughts of it, even for just a moment. Perhaps finding yourself saying "look behind you" to the TV set? That is total concentration on a film; hypnosis is total concentration on an idea or concept.
